Qualifications & Work Experience

Dr. Vijayam Ravi’s profundity makes her much more than a reliable consultant. She is indeed an Evangelist propagating knowledge, exercising leadership development, curriculum development and capacity building programs.

She has been proficient in inspecting schools all over India, advising them on various aspects of running a good school. Dr. Vijayam has played a key role in rightly assessing the institution’s strengths & weaknesses, at the same time providing specific tailor-made solutions to ensure that a holistic environment is created for the students.

Her expert opinions have helped setting up new institutes & institutionalize educational system. She was an active member of the inspection team for the Indian Council for Secondary Examinations, New Delhi from 2004 to 2008.

Corporate experience

Dr. Ravi was the Director of Education in Raymond Ltd. for almost 10 years and also the Principal of Singhania School, Thane. In this role she headed two massive schools at Thane and Chindwara, with more than 6000 students and 400 staff members. Dr. Ravi was a part of the Board of Governors of both schools that run CBSE and ICSE streams.

Dr. Ravi also played the role of Chairman and Managing Director of an Educational Consultancy for 5 years. She conceived this company with the help of learned academicians and financial entrepreneurs. The company under her leadership undertook many innovative projects.

With her profound knowledge, she has presented papers on HR practices and Leadership at IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Jaipur, IMT Ghaziabad, IIT Mumbai, National Centre for Quality Management, Quality Council of India etc.

Dr. Vijayam has attended several seminars organized by CII. She has attended special programs & courses on Leadership from Grid Inc and on Educational Management and Transformational Leadership from XLRI Jamshedpur.

Dr. Ravi has conducted many programs for leadership development, one of which was on a one-day session for ‘Driving Innovations and Change’ for senior officers of JK Files & Tools. Dr. Vijayam has been attending the corporate interchange programs for consecutive years.

Dr. Ravi has been the Trustee of India First Foundation School at Karjat, Maharashtra. The school was conceived along with several other academicians and entrepreneurs.

PhD in  Leadership studies that connect Indian Philosophy and Management from Mumbai University, India, Dec 2012- topic “ Principles of 21st Century Leadership from Ancient Scriptures”-This includes a thorough study of the styles of leadership that can be seen from Vedas, Upanishads, The Six Darsanas, Dharmasastras, Manusmriti, Chankaya neeti, Vidhura neeti, Advaita Philosophy, Jainism, Buddhism , The Bhagavad Gita etc.

(The focus of this research is to link Philosophy with Management and define leadership through a more scientific approach supported by philosophy)
